According to Dr. Nicholas Romanov, creator of the Pose Method of Running, strengthening is the ability of your body to resist the impact of landing without collapsing. A here is a shocker . . . running itself is NOT strengthening!

Smith Running Academy was developed out of our belief that runners deserve to be educated on technique. We firmly believe good technique comes from good form. Resources that allow runners to learn good technique are limited with the majority of education being on mileage training, shoes or other gear, or generic exercises.

Smith Physical Therapy and Running Academy was born because of a need within the therapy industry. Patients have not been receiving the care they deserve in insurance-based clinics. It is convenient to be able to utilize your insurance to pay for your therapy sessions; however, this model forces skilled and dedicated therapists to see up to four or five patient at a time. The therapists rely on rehabilitation aides to help perform modalities or exercises in order to maintain a high volume. This significantly limits the amount of focused, one-on-one time that your therapist is able to spend with you as a patient.
